Teutonia Awarded 2013 IGSA World Championship


DSB World Championship BRA

Petaluma, California - The International Gravity Sports Association (IGSA) have announced that the 12th IGSA World Championship for Downhill Skateboarding and Street Luge will be held in Teutonia, Brazil November 15-17, 2013

Located is in Southern Brazil in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Teutonia is revered as the fastest downhill skateboarding track in the world.  Competitors reach speeds of 115 km/h (73 mph) in downhill skateboarding while street luge speeds have exceeded 130 km/h (81 mph).   After joining the IGSA World Cup circuit in 2008, Teutonia has hosted IGSA World Cup races for the past five consecutive years including the 2011 IGSA World Championship.

Kyle Wester from the United States, is the defending Teutonia Downhill Skateboarding winner and Brazilian Rodolfo Saldanha is the defending Street Luge winner.  In addition to Wester and Saldanha, defending IGSA Downhill Skateboarding World Champion James Kelly and defending Street Luge World Champion Andy Lally are also expected to compete.
