Jan first bombed hills in the pre-urethane, small town 60's.   45 years zipped by.   Then as spectators, Jan took his son Max to Maryhill '08 and Max was clearly wowed by getting autographs (and a board) from the world's best racers.

Luke Melo is currently seventeen years old and in his first year at the University of Waterloo doing a computer science major. He started skateboarding when he was eight years old and bought his first longboard at thirteen.

Max Moisanen  at 10 years old became involved in the sport of longboarding in 2008 when he and his dad Jan were looking for a skateboarding event to watch. They came across the IGSA event in Maryhill and went as spectators.
