You have all heard the legend of the miles and miles of amazing concrete transitions, the land they call Albuquerque, NM.  Others think of it as a secret Mecca of Skateboarding.  The International Distance Skateboarding Association (IDSA) and the IGSA are proud to support Albuquerque, NM as a host city for a college only longboard event.  The Collegiate Longboard Championships will include an event unlike any other.  It will be a three-day festival that will include three disciplines of longboarding: Push, Slalom, and Downhill.  The weekend is open to any participant that is enrolled in College credit at any accredited 2 year or 4 year institution.

Felipe Malaga

On Sunday the 9th of December 2012 during the semi finals of the Hot Heels Africa race our friend Felipe Malaga from Peru had a very bad crash resulting in a serious head injury. He is still in a critial condition.

Felipes insurance denied covering the international cost and of medical bills. This is a fund in aid of assisting his family with his medical bill.

New, Exciting developments for 2013!

The IGSA World Cup Series will celebrate its’ 13th season in 2013 and the IGSA’s 17th year of sanctioning races. In those years we’ve watched the sport grow with street luge through the X Games years (1997-2001), nearly die when the sport went into a dark period with severely curtailed participation and virtually no media coverage and then grow to expand around the world with the current explosion of downhill skateboarding. Along the way we’ve expanded from our base in North America to Europe, Africa, South America and ultimately Australia. We’ve made a lot of friends along the way and watched as the longboard industry grew along with the sport.
