Stephan Risch has just returned from the Czech Republic to check on the progress of the upcoming Kozakov Challenge.  He sent us this report along with a few photos.

Hello friends,

I just returned from the Czech Republic to check out the site of the upcoming Kosakov Challenge : IGSA European Championships!!!  The event will be held August 12-15 near the city of Turnov.  It’s about one hour away from Prague in the direction of the Polish boarder.

10 really cool Czech riders from Prague met us there and gave us a tour.  It’s a super fast race track with lots of challenges from the top to the bottom.   We did an inspection of the course and made recommendations about the number of straw bales required and other safety enhancements.  Event organizer Jan Proufus is well prepared!

The track starts off very fast reaching up to about 85 km/h.  Then you come into a long, high speed right.   Maybe you won’t need to foot brake here when the road is prepared with the safety barriers in place.  From here you fly into a very nice left with lots of speed and then down to a very nice, grippy, right hairpin.

Exiting from the hairpin you accelerate through the forest and into a left turn.  As you exit the left where you reach the maximum speed.   Yesterday we reached a max speed of 91 km/h and more is definitely possible!  The total course length is 3.4km

The party they are planning in the evening sounds amazing.  I can’t talk about the details, all I can say is you wouldn’t believe it…

The organizers are really crazy and highly ambitious.   I can’t wait for the event!!!!

Totally stoked Stephan
