Jan first bombed hills in the pre-urethane, small town 60's. 45 years zipped by. Then as spectators, Jan took his son Max to Maryhill '08 and Max was clearly wowed by getting autographs (and a board) from the world's best racers.
The next year, at maryhill '09, Max and Jan were the youngest and oldest competitors. Applying the cornucopia of modern design choices to classic luge has Jan stoked. His third board is on the way. He's also eager to start building a streetuge and maybe someday, making a surprisingly good finish.
