Relative unknown Glen Phillips, who has recently moved from Luge to Downhill Skateboarding, pulled a big surprise by beating some of the international top ten riders to win the Fair Cape Downhill Challenge.

Fair Cape, South Africa - Mischo Erban from Vancouver, Canada has earned the number one starting position for tomorrow's Fair Cape Downhill Challenge. The wind was from the south west and brought some rain in the late afternoon, resulting in only one time-trial for the lugers.

Discovered in April 2006 located 10mins from Durbanville leading down to the Fair Cape dairie farm. Once was a gravel road now paved with buttersmooth tar. From start to finish it's 1.9km. Top speed for downhill skateboard is 103km/h and for streetluge is 117km/h. www.sagra.co.za/
