San Dimas, California -
Andrew Chapman showed up at Bonelli Park on Sunday morning without ever turning a wheel on the track.  He went out and learned the course during the 1.5 hour morning warm up session and then had to start from the back of the grid.

He worked his way through each of the four rounds of heats to earn a place in the finals. In the finals he went up against the number one qualifier Erik Lundberg, the number three qualifier James Kelly and the number five qualifier Micah Green to earn the US Nationals victory.  It was an amazing story for the Canadian skater who is now headed to Bathurst, Australia for the IGSA World Champonships less than 10 days from now.

Finishing in second was Micah Green.  It was a sensational performance by junior II racer.  As the highest finishing skater from the United States, Green will  hold the title of 2009 IGSA US National Champion.  James Kelly put in a consistenly strong performance all day to finish third.  It was a tough race that saw many upsets along the way and many riders crashing into the straw bales on the exit of Abec 11 corner.
