Teolo, Italy- Patrick Switzer continued his domination of the European World Cup races when he posted the fastest qualifying time in today's first run of downhill skateboarding qualifying.  Switzer was the first skater down the course and posted a time of 1:58.801.  He then watched as the next 76 skaters tried in vain to equal his time.

Ramon Konigshausen was second with a time of 1:59.465.  Sunday's race is looking to once again be a showdown between the only two skaters that have won World Cup races in 2011.  Canadian Maxim Garant-Rousseau was a surprise third with a time of 2:01.112.  Australia's Jackson Shapiera was fourth wiith a 2:01.300.  American Alex Tongue rounded out the top five with a time of 2:01.401.

The big story of the day was former World Champion Scoot Smith who fell while pushing off the line and dislocated his shoulder.  After a trip to the hospital, Scoot was released and is in good spirits.  He is out for the rest of the weekend but plans to return to Action at the Winsport Canada Cup September 2-4 in Calgary.
