Stephens Qualifies 1st in Peru
Morro Solar/Lima, Peru - Under a very sunny and windy day two, qualifying runs were held today at Morro Solar Lima, Peru for the third round of the IGSA South American Downhill Series at Copa Ciudad de Los Reyes.
Current leader of the IGSA South American Downhill Series, Dillon Stephens form Canada missed the two warm up runs but still qualified first. Peruvian Felipe Malaga is looking to win in his home town and sits in second position. Canadian Max Gradmiller qualified in third, American William Royce in fourth, and Canadian Nicolas Desmarais rounded out the top five.
In qualifying for the Women´s Downhill, Peruvian Giorgina Ivanov took the pole position leaving 2011 IGSA South American Champion Brazilian Reine Oliveira in second.Chilean Rodrigo Bisquertt is the fastest on Street Luge and Peruvian Junior Gustavo Brandon set the best time in Classic Luge.Peruvian Renato Zuzunaga was the fastest in Junior I with fellow Peruvian Gustavo Paredes being the fastest in Junior II.
Tomorrow the two-man heats are going to be a challenge to everyone that is participating in this great race under paradise views of Playa da Hierradura at the Pacific Coast of Lima.The moon is almost full and lots of parties are under way all night long in shining Lima.
