Max Moisanen at 10 years old became involved in the sport of longboarding in 2008 when he and his dad Jan were looking for a skateboarding event to watch. They came across the IGSA event in Maryhill and went as spectators.
After the finals were over Jeff Budro, of Sector 9, gave Max his competition board and Max was hooked. He competed at Maryhill in 2009 in a piece together set of leathers and has since gone on to compete at Danger Bay and Vernon in Canada, where he came in 3rd and 2nd respectively. He also competed at Maryhill 2010. His goals for next year are to continue to compete and to make it to more races. In the winter Max snowboards with his dad in Washington state.
