San Dimas, California, USA - The IGSA Unted States National Championships begin today at Frank G. Bonelli Park in San Dimas, California.  Zak Maytum from Boulder, Colorado is the defending Downhill Skateboarding Champion.  He won last years race over 2007 Winner Jimmy Flindt in a last second pass down the final straightaway.  Both riders will be back to battle it out once again in addition to many of the other top downhill skateboarders in America.

LallyMaryhill winner Andy Lally is the favorite in Street Luge.

In street luge, international auto racing star Andy Lally from Dacula, Gerogia will be competing for the National Championship on one of his rare weekends off.  Lally was once a regular competitor on the IGSA circuit but as his autoo racing career took off he was forced to curtail his street luging.  After being away for several years, Andy came back at the Maryhill Festival of Speed this year and won the event.  He beat two time defending champion Matthias Lang in the process and showed that he hadn't missed a step.

Practice gets underway this morning at 9:00 am.  Timed qualifying begins at 12:30 pm.  Sunday's Downhill Skateboarding race is set for a 11:00 am start.  The Street Luge race is scheduled to begin at 1:00 pm.
